The Exclusive Riding School of Learning by Fun

Founded in 1981 by Audrey Holbrook, Aescwood Farms Children's Riding School is a family run business that has been providing riding lessons for over 40 years. We specialise in children aged 4 to 12 years, and include plenty of fun and games in our riding instruction to ensure that children have a great time while they learn to ride. Lessons are offered Saturday and Sunday mornings to suit all abilities.  Our fabulous facilities include both indoor and outdoor riding schools, plus the exclusive opportunity to ride through Hodgemoor Woods. In addition to riding instruction, we provide instruction in grooming and pony care, teaching the children about responsibility and the valuable life lesson of loving and caring for animals.

Fun Days

During school holidays Aescwood Farm offers Fundays - your chance to come along and spend a day with the ponies!  Everyone is welcome, from complete beginners to competent riders.  Enthusiastic and friendly staff will be on hand all day to make sure your experience is enjoyable.  Activities include:
  • Riding in the woods
  • Riding in indoor and outdoor schools
  • Fantastic, experienced ponies
  • Grooming and pony care
  • Fun and games
  • Gymkhana Races and rosettes for all!
Numbers are limited, so please book early to avoid disappointment.  Participants will need a packed lunch, plenty of water and suitable clothing for the day.  Hats can be provided.

Horse Shows

Aescwood Farm hosts summer Horse Shows and encourage the entire family to come and watch the children ride.  Special judges are in attendance and each child will go home with two rosettes!  Strawberries, scones, jam and orange juice are provided free to all, as well as side stalls such as tombola, lucky dip, etc.  It is a great day out for everyone!
